About thewelderslens

I have been welding for over a quarter of a century(25 years). I am 43 years old and have a successful business, a beautiful family. I pastor a church as well. My hope in all this is to bring what I have learned to the forefront so others can get a huge head start. I have lived through it for you. Be thankful. Later. View all posts by thewelderslens

First of all I want to thank you for your time to be willing to put together these welding lessons ,so that men like myself that are trying to start a welding career will have a edge in wise to the feild, “thank you!” But my question is or should be a request instead is: Is there anyway that you could use more adequate light in the videos as it is hard to see exactly the parts and teckniques being used.

could you show a tig root on 316 stainless. I’m having a hard time with it.

  • thewelderslens

I will see what I can do, but I am having to move out of my present location
and don’t know when I will get set up again. It may be a while. Hang
in there. Stainless is tough at first. It is very heavy compared to carbon.
It also draws very rapidly wanting to close up your gap. Keep those things
in mind when welding on it.

Hello and thanks for your comments.
I am not presently doing any more videos.
I already have a MIG video set of 2 DVDs
that I sell for cheap at my website. I could post
a snippet of it on youtube but they only allow
under 10 minutes at a time. That is why I sell the
full length videos from my site. Here is the
    address: http://www.thewelderslens.com
    Thanks, Michael.

Can you send me info on your wheel that you use to weld to flanges I would like to build one?

  • thewelderslens

    Hello Daniel,
I wouldn’t recommend building one like I did. I just threw that thing together out of make shift material I scrounged up on a job. It was better than nothing but the best thing to use for a roll out is an actual wheel you could get at a metal supply house. You can buy a wheel and hub assembly that you can fabricate into a smooth on center roll out. You could attach a valve handle wheel like I did but it is hard to get something like that centered. The hub and wheel has bearings, the thing I made did not have bearings.
