A New Year deserves a New Post with a New Plan

January 2, 2009

A big thanks to all of you out there who have been very kind and encouraging with your great comments and support.

A business owner is dust in the wind without supporters that believe in his business.

A leader is nothing more than a soldier that has said, “Okay, I will go first!”

Will you follow me if I go?

I have learned a great deal this last year about first of all Jesus my God, myself, and others.

It means so much to be appreciated and loved. It is what humanity is missing.

When you kick God out of your life, you say goodbye to love. Even discipline is a form of love.

This year has some great promises and new horizons I can see already.

I am striving to make The Welder Lens the best it can be and very available to all.

I just launched my first product although I know it was not the best time.

I got it out as soon as I could.

A big thanks to those of you who have caught the vision of this site and its products, you know who you are.

Welding instructions through welding videos is a fantastic idea and method by which to train yourself to become a great welder.

The whole plan of greatness is watch and implement, watch and implement.

Here are some plans I have already in mind for this year:

1. Carbon Plate series: All positions (Stick and Mig)

2. Someone asked me to make a jack stand

3. Exotic metals such as stainless and chrome % carbons

4. Aluminum with Tig on square wave

5. Mig Flux core,etc.

So I hope that you will hang with me in my plight to bring a format that I don’t believe has ever been truly exposed so far in the welding course.

There surely hasn’t been the welding home study course aspect of this industry.

I will be doing some promotion spots of other peoples products as soon as I find some that I can put my stamp on.

One thing you probably will not see from my site is drawings and theory.

You can buy a book and read on that. I am more interested in the actual view behind the lens. I have a few candidates in mind for special interviews and some outside training from other experts in this field.

Along with that I will be doing some giveaways and gratus bonuses.

I am really thinking about doing a monthly membership package as well.

Lots of plans and ideas in my little brain.

So I just thought I would share some of these things with you here at the beginning of this year as a mind map for us all.

The Bible says that without a Vision The People Perish.

Thanks again and take care.

I really enjoy your videos, All i weld is stainless 304 sch 10 pipe and i am trying to be better at it. I use a syncrowave an an older airco in my shop, everything is tig . I just started experimenting with a product called solarflux B , was wodering if you have any experience with this product.

When im in the field i am having to use a Bobcat 225 for my tig work ,no pedal, just a 17 with gas shutttoff, i want your opinion on the small inverters such as the MIller 150stl on 200dx. for this purpose, i got the info on your course am am interested but to be honest i want to concertrate on the tig process until i am satisfied i can get no better at it

thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from you soon

  9. Hey Braxton. Sorry it took a few days to get back. I am going to send you an email as well.
I will do a bit of research and let you know about this topic. Off the top of my head
I don’t want to just shoot from the hip, I would rather look at what is current in this area.
I personally use a lincoln pipeline SA 250 on my truck but I weld a great deal of pipe with
stick. With tig in the field you don’t need a foot switch or need to spend some great amount
unless you want to. That is just my opinion. The tig range of heat is not as picky as stick rod.
When I welded tig in the field I always just use a scratch arc procedure. You lay your cup in position
ready to weld and then you just strike your filler rod over the tungsten making contact with the tungsten
and the material that is grounded you are working on and it works just fine.
Don’t ever dip your tungsten, use the strike method.
I have a Tig package that is 6 DVDs which you can pick up from my website if interested.
Everyone seems to be real happy with my stuff so far that has purchased it. Go to the main page at my site
address and go to the bottom of the page and click where it says click here. that will take
you to the next page and at the bottom of that page there is a link that says separate packages
That takes you to the place where the course is divided into 4 packages.
Anyway, I will check out some equipment this next week for you and get back to you.
    Thanks, and take care!!

  10. Hey Tracy,
I saw that you made that purchase and I was impressed with your sunflower gate like I told you.
Great work!! You need to do more of that. Thanks for your support and
    encouragement and stay in touch.
    Michael!!

  11. Hey Braxton,
I checked into some of the inverter machines you were looking at.
I can’t believe the price of these things these days.
What you are paying for is convenience more than power.
I know that you are not going to get the smooth arc out of a bobcat that you would in a specialty machine like an inverter.
I personally like Lincoln for stick and tig and Miller for Mig but I have heard lately that the Miller for tig is really good.
I guess it just depends on who you like and what price you are comfortable with. I know Miller is little higher.
The warranty and equipment that comes with the rig factors in too.
I have never used the solarflux you recommended.
I have done my share of schedule 10 and 20 stainless but it was in
a shop at a powerhouse with an older Inverter.
I never cared for stainless all that much. That thin wall material draws and when it heats up the metal doesn’t cooperate like carbon.
I know it has its purpose. The purge and the masking tape when putting the root in. Oh man!!LOL I remember.
Maybe there is a different method you use these days for tacking and putting the root in? Anyway The lincoln was only like 15 lbs but you still need a power source where as an engine driven machine on a truck (not necessarily the bobcat) can do the same thing with lighter leads to the work area and using the filler wire strike method I teach you won’t ever need a footswitch or a pedal.
    Talk soon!!
